— Public Meeting —

Working for Peace on the Korean Peninsula

This public meeting is being held to inform ourselves of the developments which have been taking place in the work for peace and reunification on the Korean Peninsula, in particular the Summits which were held in Singapore and most recently in Hanoi. The meeting also honours the 107th anniversary of the birthday of eternal DPRK President Kim Il Sung, the father of modern Korea, which falls on April 15. We call on everyone to support the right of the Korean people to self-determination and independence in the context of taking up the cause of global peace.

John Buckle Centre
170 Wandsworth Road, London SW8 2LA

Friday, April 12, 2019, 7.00 pm

The meeting is being held with the participation of a representative of the Embassy of the DPR of Korea in London. He will speak on the 107th anniversary of the birthday of eternal DPRK President Kim Il Sung, and briefly on the topic of the work for peace on the Korean Peninsula, and the Summit Meetings. Contributions will also be made by representatives of participating organisations of Friends of Korea, which is an organisation uniting organisations and individuals in Britain working for friendship and understanding with the Korean people. The meeting will provide an opportunity too for questions and discussion.

Public Meetings on NATO @70

No to NATO - 70 years of war and aggression!

Thursday April 4 2019 6.30pm
George Street Social 45-51 George Street Newcastle upon Tyne NE4 7JN

Speakers:
Chris Nineham - Vice Chair Stop the War
Charlotte Austin - Young Labour
Syed Ullah - Newcastle Stop the War Coalition

This event marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of NATO. But it is no cause for celebration. NATO is a Cold War relic that has, paradoxically, expanded over the last 30 years. It has consistently served as an extension of US power around the world. Theresa May is set to host a NATO summit - in London this December - with President Trump in attendance. The summit, and the protests which will accompany it, will draw attention to this institution and its role in the world. It is important we understand its history and its influence today, so that we can build opposition to war and aggression.

Organised by Newcastle Stop the War Coalition

There is only one World—No to the use of force
to settle conflicts between nations and peoples!

On the 70th Anniversary of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO). The old geopolitical world of big power rivalry and world domination through military alliances is continuing to create a very dangerous situation. The interest of the peoples is to resolve conflicts between nations without war in the modern world.
