Call of the Revolutionary Communist Party
of Britain (Marxist-Leninist)
April 5, 2005
With the announcement of the date of the
General Election as May 5, 2005, RCPB(ML) is calling on the working class and
people to take a stand on ending the drive to war and reaction which the
establishment parties represent.
It is calling on the working class and
people to look to the future and envision a different world in which the best
representatives of the workers, the youth, the women, the pensioners, the
national minority communities and the people as a whole are the legislators,
representing the aspirations and ideals of the electorate, and accountable to
them.
In particular, we make the following calls
to the electorate for this election:
- Strike a blow against the warmongers. Support candidates of
the alternative, particularly those standing on pro-worker and anti-war
platforms.
- Reject the fraudulent "choice" between the three
big parties who all ensure that the people have no say in the running of the
country. Undermine and prevent the attempts to elect political parties to power
as adjuncts of the state.
- Use the election to strike a blow against all the
arrangements which are preventing the forward march of society in this 21st
century, and bringing about a new society fit for human beings.
- Organise to constitute yourselves a bulwark against the
darkest reaction that is being organised by the US, its ally Britain and the
rich against the people.
- Use the election to further strengthen the movement to
bring into being a pro-worker, pro-social and anti-war government.
- Working class, organise yourself as the Workers
Opposition, the surest block to the development of war and fascism represented
by New Labours "Third Way". In that agenda can be seen the
replacement of the old social-democratic arrangements increasingly by the
structures of a corporate fascist state.
Now is the time to reject the big parties.
Now is the time to vote in such a way that brings closer the empowerment of the
working class and people, so that the people can govern themselves and control
their own lives.
